Quote:
Carrie Prejean, the dethroned Miss California 2009 who stirred up controversy by expressing her views against gay marriage, has dropped her lawsuit against the Miss California contest because of an "extremely graphic" sex tape, says a report at the celebrity gossip site TMZ.
"Carrie Prejean demanded more than a million dollars during her settlement negotiations with Miss California USA Pageant officials -- that is, until the lawyer for the Pageant showed Carrie an XXX home video of her handiwork," the Web site reported.
The Web site reports that it obtained a copy of the sex video "months ago but decided not to post it because it was so racy." While TMZ would not state what was depicted on the tape, it hinted at the content by saying that "Carrie has a promising solo career."

The darling victim of Fox News. I wonder how much more face time she will get on Fox after this?

Quote:
"You know what, in my country, in my family, I think I believe that marriage should be between a man and a woman, no offense to anybody out there. But that’s how I was raised and I believe that it should be between a man and a woman," Prejean said, causing a stir of complaints from progressives and rights activists.

How can Fox spin this? What will Hannity say now after he tried to bludgeon the left for making Prejean a victim?

Maybe he'll say that dirty movies should only involve relations between a man and a woman?

comm: We know Republicans have families. Go here: http://www.republicanoffenders.com/ to learn about their values. Pay special attention to the list of pedophiles (so numerous that it takes multiple sections to list the cases), rapists, and cases involving prostitution. Guess they don't value the families and children of others.

Prejean is just another example of a dumb, attention-seeking Stepford woman - the model of mindless arm candy that conservatives like to support. I saw the video of Prejean speaking at one of those christianist conferences (forget which one; it's up at YouTube) and she's as dumb as a post. She drew cheers from the crowd. They sure love their women dumb, dumber, and dumbest. Like PAYlin, Bachmann, and the aging Schlafly. They are without substance. Men of little substance love them. Sort of like getting a chance to play with live Barbie dolls. Those implants probably got more than a few cheers, too.

Time to cut back on the caffeine?

bitter as in resentment? I don't think so... more like disgust, or maybe disappointment that women would behave like that.

Now men... of course they're going to love that stuff - what man wouldn't love to have a sex kitten, at least for a little while - until the bills come in, or the competition starts, or you need to have a responsible partner - but heck... until then, why not enjoy. Right?

reminds me of when I dated a much younger guy - it was great fun for a while until we started actually talking ;^o

Again, it's not the action itself. If the action is her-on-herself, I defy anyone to cast that first stone. Sort of like drinking at 20.

But by being the artificially-endowed spokesperson for family values, she opens herself up to one of the (hopefully) worst sins of politics- hypocrisy.

It must have been hard for a sex object to preach family values. I assume that was not her long-term plan.

Her mistake was less associating with a photographer, but with those who would use her for political gain.

We can probably agree that Ms. Prejean isn't epecially bright. She gave a candid answer to a loaded question and has since been both lauded and demonized for it. I'd doubt she had any idea what she was getting herself into.

As for political gain, she is being used by both sides.

kevinsean: It has nothing to do with bitterness. As a woman, I'm offended by other women who promote stupidity wrapped in enhanced boobery. Even in this day and age, some women encourage being objectified. Men aren't subjected to such foolishness. Regardless of appearance, men are taken seriously automatically. That should apply to women, too. Prejean has nothing to offer. This is her 15 minutes and she's milking it for all it's worth.

Tesha: Had to laugh at your dating comment. Had the same experience. My best buddy at the time, a guy, told me to remember one word - tape. He told me that tape was invented to avoid that talking thing in such situations. It became a long-standing joke between us when we were around airheads - both male and female - at social gatherings. We'd lock eyes and mouth "tape". Has given us a lot of laughs over decades.

Used by both sides? Nice try. The old "they all do it" excuse.

Actually, it is the old "both sides get equal mileage from this one" excuse. Examples:

And these are from a couple of the more mainstream lefty sites. Try some of the nuttier ones...yikes!

Ms. Prejean is an easy target and the left is making the most of it.

but where is the political gain on the left - other than to point out that there is a whole lot of hypocrisy concerning this poor misguided woman from the right?

Right perspective: Look at this beautiful young woman who speaks her mind and then is mercilessly attacked by the left.

Left perspective: Look at this idiot tramp who apparently speaks for the Republicans.

Equal mileage.

Ms. Prejean made herself a target. While I agree that initially, one individual, I can't remember his name, over reacted by insulting her after her comments, he could have made his points without insulting her, she made herself a target.

This is typical of the right. It's like the supposed White House war on Fox. It's Fox that attacks Obama 24/7, and when he hits back, he's a bully.

Baloney.

Prejean made her comments, she should have to defend them. She's an easy target because she hasn't much brains.

As I recall, after she made her comments at the pageant she was roundly condemned by spokesmen of the Left. There was not a civilized pause until Right spokespeople raised their banners; it was my impression that both sides rallied and set up camps around her.

Yeah, she was used by both sides. But if you wanted the best swimsuit shots (and I did), Fox was the place to go. Murdoch knows what sells. Great for ratings, which by the way have apparently NOT shot up in the past two weeks. Barely budged, and that was probably me checking to see if fairness and balance were being used to defend themselves from the charges. Nope.
