A Republican candidate for this area’s congressional seat said Wednesday that the U.S. government was complicit in the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

In an editorial board interview with The Telegraph on Wednesday, the candidate, Mary Maxwell, said the U.S. government had a role in killing nearly 3,000 people at the World Trade Center and Pentagon, so it could make Americans hate Arabs and allow the military to bomb Muslim nations such as Iraq.

There are those on all sides of the political spectrum. I've been debating a couple libertarian friends on this same issue. So far I haven't seen any convincing evidence that would lead me to beleive that hundreds of thousands of FBI, CIA and other government officals all worked together to attack their own people and were able to keep it quite for years with not one of them blowing the whistle. And not only that but have their plan work perfectly aside from a handfull of bloggers who've suposidly figured them out.

Sorry but that's tin foil hat stuff there.

The idea that this was all done my 19 blokes who could barely fly cessnas, who left a car with all their names on a bit of paper at the airport for the FBI to find, who were armed with pathetic box cutters, who went into the cockpits even though Pre-911FAA reguations state that they MUST REMAIN LOCKED AT ALL TIMES DURING FLIGHT etc etc etc.

The official story is a consipiracy theory, and the craziest one of them all: that a dialysis patient living in a cave in Afghanistan with a laptop and 19 idiots with boxcutters who don't know how to fly could defeat the world's greatest airforce, and successfully hit the most well-defended building on Earth, the Pentagon.

It does not require hundreds of thousands to pull this off. There were lots of war games going on on 9/11, including ones of having hijacked planes, and planes crashing into towers. All it takes is a number of people in key top positions to direct this operation; most of those involved either were patsies being told a false story to get them to take their part, or were simply following orders and told nothing about the plot, simply follow their orders and don't ask questions.

Anybody involved will keep quiet to avoid the electric chair. Others like FBI's Siebel Edmonds and MI5's David Shayler have been silenced with gag orders and threatened with jail if they talk.

So it does not take thousands of conspirators. A small number such as 19, for example, in high places would be enough.

As far as keeping secrets, the Manhatten Project was kept secret for many years. Many other projects may have been kept secret for longer and we still don't know about them because they are kept secret.

BYU Professor of physics Steven Jones is the world’s leading expert in the question of the controlled demolitions of the WTC towers. Below are his comments.

A yellow-white bright light source, with yellow molten metal flowing and dripping downward from the source, was videotaped and photographed from one of the floors of the South Tower just minutes prior to the building’s collapse. White ash was also seen emanating from the same source. (see video on this CD).
The observed yellow molten metal could not be molten aluminum because hot molten aluminum always appears silver colored, not yellow colored.
Under the rubble of the collapsed towers and WTC Building 7, pools of yellow-hot molten metal were observed for weeks. A demolition expert who has participated in and observed hundreds of controlled demolitions says that he has never heard of or observed any time when a pool of hot molten metal was observed in the rubble of any controlled demolition. This simply is not a normal phenomenon observed in a typical collapse (by controlled demolition or any other cause) of a high-rise building.
Structural steel melts at 2800 degrees F. Such high temperatures could not possibly be reached by fires, which under optimal conditions can only reach about 750 degrees F. So the molten metal must have had some other cause.
What was observed is consistent with a thermite or thermate reaction.
Thermite is a compound used by the military and discussed on military websites. When it is ignited, it quickly becomes extremely hot (up to 4532 degrees F.) and can melt steel extremely rapidly.
The white ash observed in the South Tower is consistent with what emanates from a thermite reaction. The yellow hot molten metal observed in the South Tower prior to collapse is also consistent with a thermite reaction, which produces yellow-hot molten iron.
A thermite reaction starts with aluminum powder mixed with iron oxide. It is not easy to start the reaction; ignition requires an extremely high-temperature fuse or other methods. Once the reaction begins, an enormous amount of heat and energy is immediately released, and the reaction becomes irreversible and continues until completion. The end products are white aluminum oxide ash powder and extremely hot, yellow molten iron.
Professor Steven Jones and his colleagues in June 2006 obtained and analyzed samples from previously molten metal taken from a huge solidified chunk from the South Tower.
Analysis included electron microprobe and other advanced physics methods. Professor Jones is working with a team of scientists, which includes two other physicists and two geologists.
Analysis found that the sample contains mostly iron, which rules out the possibility that the sample had been previously molten aluminum. The iron found in the sample is consistent with the by-product of a thermite reaction. Analysis also found very little if any chromium in the sample, which ruled out the possibility that the previously molten metal had been structural steel. Analysis also found significant quantities of sulfur, which is often added to thermite in order to make it much easier to melt steel because the sulfur significantly reduces the melting temperature of steel. Mixing sulfur into thermite in this way is a well-known method. The compound of thermite mixed with sulfur is called thermate, and is used by the military and discussed on military websites. It is very hot and powerful and can quickly melt through steel.
The sample also showed trace elements of manganese and fluorine, other elements that are also characteristic byproducts of a thermate reaction. The combinations of elements found is “like a fingerprint that the criminal left behind” that is evidence which tells us what was used.
In summary, the sample from previously molten metal found at the World Trade Center South Tower contained mostly iron, significant quantities of sulfur, and little if any chromium, which is consistent with molten iron plus sulfur, which would be the expected end-product of a thermite reaction. This finding is completely inconsistent with the official story of how the buildings fell.

Robert Moore, another member of Scholars for 9/11 Truth, has found a patent going back to the 1990’s whereby thermite or thermate is loaded into a cylinder, which has a groove along one side. The groove is then aligned alongside the surface of the steel. Once the reaction begins, a stream of hot molten iron is forced out of the groove with great pressure coming out in a thin sheet which can cut through steel like a hot knife cuts through butter.
Another method is to put the thermite into a sol-gel.
Normal thermite is an incendiary which creates very hot temperatures but does not explode. You can also now create extremely fine thermite from tiny particles to create what is called super-thermite, which is so powerful that is creates an explosion.
The military uses thermite and thermate in some of its weapons.
47 robust steel core columns were in each tower, and they were diced into relatively small pieces.
Gordon Ross, a mechanical engineer, has published a study which points out that even if fire were to somehow miraculously simultaneously destroy the support of the 47 core columns and 200+ perimeter columns, the columns below the fire would still be intact and act like a spring. If the block of floors above were to crash down upon the columns below, the shock would be absorbed by the columns giving and flexing, like a shock absorber in your car, but the columns and the building would not collapse.
This is a matter of conservation of momentum and conservation of energy.
You have to have incendiaries or explosives below the collapse to get the material below the moving floors out of the way in order for the collapse to occur as quickly as it was observed collapsing.
There is not enough potential energy from the falling top parts of the building to allow the collapse to continue downward. The buildings could not possibly collapse without the use of explosives.
The pulverization of concrete takes energy. There is not enough gravitational potential energy to create the pulverization of concrete and the breaking of the steel columns. The collapse would stop by itself in the absence of explosives because there is simply not enough gravitational potential energy to do these things.
If you were to take out only a few columns with explosives, the building would sag and not collapse.
If you destroy all of the columns nearly simultaneously, sequentially at free fall speed, with explosives, you can get the tower to collapse. It would require about 1000 lbs. of explosives to bring down each tower. You could imagine 10 men taking a couple trips each of 100 lbs. They could carry an even heavier load each trip with the use of a dolly. Only a small number of men would be required to plant the materials. One fellow with a computer or two theoretically could figure out where to plant the explosives. The men would not have to be Americans; they could have been agents from another country.
There was no evidence of thermonuclear devices being used in bringing down the buildings, since there was no significant radioactivity or tritium found in the samples analyzed.

The facts of 9/11 are difficult to accept. However, the Law of Gravity is immutable and, having studied the evidence myself for over 2 years, it is this key piece of evidence which brings the official story crashing to the ground.

The big corporate mainstream media have been complicit in the cover up. Whether this is just due to disbelief or is an active policy would be difficult to determine, but it's probably a combination of the two.

All these theories are just preposterous. Everybody knows the 9/11 hijackers were actually space aliens trained at Area 51 by the Men in Black to pose as Arab terrorists so they could destroy the Krell Death Ray that was cleverly disguised as a pair of high rise office buildings. The fate of the universe was at stake!

On a more serious note...I am slightly disturbed that the Telegraph felt the need to alert us on the editorial page this morning to the fact that Mary Maxwell's platform is, shall we say, not in the mainstream. I'm not sure what to make of it. Either Americans are so far gone they are taken in by these ideas or the Telegraph underestimates how discerning voters can actually be. I'm not sure which is worse.

On the other hand, maybe the Telegraph editorial staff is actually a stooge of the Bush administration and part of the vast right wing media conspiracy to keep the truth from the American people.

Ok, so the president, the FBI, the CIA and foreign governments all decided to come up with a plan to work together… which Bush despite being a complete idiot as the left usually claim he is was suddenly super genius enough to pull off the biggest plot in American history against all these hundreds or thousands of people involved in pulling this off have managed to keep completely quite about for years now without a single person blowing the whistle. Furthermore Bush managed to pull this off in just his first 7 months in office. So is Bush an idiot or super genius?

And if that already isn’t enough to bend reality, for these conspiracies to hold true we also have to believe that the fourth plane that disappeared didn’t actually hit the pentagon but was instead hidden and a missile was used in it’s place for whatever reason. Or maybe the plane didn’t exist at all and all the family members seen weeping and those who actually witnessed the plane were all actors paid off by the government as part of this massive plot just so Bush can start a war with a country we’ve already been at war off and on with for the prior 10+ years under the TWO prior presidents (one from either party). Oh and they must have also paid off one of my co-workers as he actually had a ticket for that flight for a business trip but had to change it since his mother was sick and in the hospital. But he was paid off too since the flight never existed. And none of these people broke their silence in the 5 years since now either along with the CIA and FBI that not only plotted against their own country men but their own co-workers in the pentagon as well.

And let’s not forget the buildings falling… we also have to believe that several explosives were able to be planted all throughout the three buildings without any witnesses or reports and that some how wires were run the entire heights of the buildings also without witnesses.

Response: Who said Bush was in charge of this? You are a misinformed if you think that just because someone has the title of the President of the United States that he masterminds every major action of the military-intelligence complex. Do you think LBJ single-handedly masterminded every logistical aspect of the Bay of Tonkin incident? It is well documented fact that it was not JFK who masterminded the Operations Northwoods plan to create false flag terror incidents on US soil in order to create Cuba - that plan was overseen and signed by the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Everybody knows that Bush was not in control on the morning of 9/11 - he was in an elementary school, yet the head of the Secret Service broke all standard operating procedures by letting him stay in that unsecure publicly disclosed location for more than 30 minutes after the 2nd hit on the WTC. Norman Minetta testified that Cheney was in control in an underground bumker monitoring the plane coming towards the Pentagon. So even if we can agree that the 9/11 plot was too complex for Bush to carry out, that does not mean that it is impossible that a certain relatively small number of rogue officials in key positions in the gov't and military could not have been involved. Why Are There Not More Whistleblowers Regarding 9-11?

A common question that comes up from people who cannot imagine the official story of 9/11 is not true is this: why haven’t hundreds of thousands of whistleblowers come forward?

Let’s answer first by stating this:
a) Whistleblowers HAVE come forward. It is simply that most of them have not been publicized in the press, and of those who have come forward, many have either been gagged by the courts and threatened with jail, or fired from their jobs.

5. FBI Agents and Prominent Republican David Schippers. Prominent Washington Republican David Schippers, the chief prosecutor for the impeachment of President Clinton, stated two days after 9/11, he had received warnings from FBI agents six weeks prior to 9/11 with specific knowledge of the date and targets of 9/11, that Washington headquarters had blocked their investigations, and had threatened them with prosecution if they went public with their information. There are many other examples of whistleblowers who have come forward with crucial information about 9/11 that was either omitted from or contradicted in the 9/11 Commission Report, who most people have not heard from either because they have been ignored by the mainstream media or silenced by gag orders.

You are correct that Neither shayler or machon were working for the intelligence services during 9/11.

They went on record stating that it was an inside job because of the reasons they left MI5. They left MI5 because Shayler went public explosing a plot by MI6 to assasinate Col. Ghaddafi by UK taxpayers funding Al-Quaeda associates to car-bomb his motorcade. Machon joined him after she saw internal MI5 documents proving that the Israeils had launched an attack on their own embassy then MI5 had jailed two innocent men despite documents showing senior MI5 officials believed the Israelis had car bombed their own embassy.
Its called false flag terrorism. With knowledge of how intelligence services REALLY operate they were of the opinion that the official 9.11 line was bogus.

I`m not saying I know who did it, just that the official account can be proven categorically to be wrong in many crucial places. Even the former Commission members told the Washington Post they think they were lied to by NORAD and the Pentagon. I cant believe anyone would not be concerned by that.
